karmakula The old download links are broken now. They appear to be re-releasing all of the old chapters one at a time, just like they did with ninjai. http://karmakula.ign.com/ I am convinced that these people don't know how to write a complete story. Instead they just write these episodic series which grab the anticipation of the viewer from one episode to the next, but they never finish it. When they run out of ideas for new disconnected story fragments then they re-release old episodes to milk it. In the 8 years since this thread was started they have double-released 12 episodes of ninjai and 9 episodes of karmakula, and they haven't finished either story.
2 years ago they said a movie was in the works. The site has been in maintenance mode since then with no news. http://www.ninjai.com/
sneak peek for the Ninjai "animated feature" (presumably they mean the movie) coming on new years: http://www.ninjai.com/count/
They will be launching a kickstarter soon. I really dislike crowdfunding very much. Increasingly businesses don't sell products, they sell ideas for products and many times do not deliver after selling people the idea.
I'm not a huge fan of crowd-funding either, but I don't have a problem with it. The only difference between crowd-funding and traditional funding is instead of selling the idea to investors, they are selling the idea to the end user. With any investment there is inherent risk: most ideas fail.
