anyone play it yet?
Not yet, but I won't hold out hope. UT2k3 totally gutted the UT gameplay, it was so whorish.
How so? (Haven't played it.)
It's a lot slower; doesn't have the manic craziness of UT.
This game is sooo damn quick... I died 12 times in 30 seconds. Great gameplay though
Good, that's how UT was.
UT2K4 went back to basics. it's awesome again, in the way UT was.
I must agree, UT2k4 is awesome. Onslaught is very cool. Plus they brought back Assault! With vehicles! Seems fairly well balanced too.
Oh man, I 'bout had to do laundry when I played that assault level... It was friggin SWEET
whoa old joke alert
Old jokes never die, and neither does classic UT gameplay. All this good news is too much for Haite to bear. It brings a tear to my eye. You all know how nostalgic I am when it comes to games. I have about two hours till I get home and download...
Cowofwar isn't sure that he wants to download the demo, he wonders how big it is and whether it's any good compared to bf1942 which is the current game that he's playing. Maybe if he ends up bored with a few hours to kill he'll try it out.
The game is pretty good. It feels a lot more like UT than UT2k3 did. It's not totally there, though. All the additions make it a game in and of itself though. If they weren't part of the same series, it would probably be a moot point to compare them, but since they are, well...
its 200 megs bziped, then a 450 meg dmg..if you mean size wise. game wise, thers 4 skins, and only 1 map that i have played on.
Cowofwar just played two maps and doesn't like the game.
Kraahl has noticed cowofwars tendency to speak of himself in "third person" (perhaps not the correct gramathical term)
He did it to poke fun at me.
I really liked UT and still play it on those rare occassions when I want raw visceral stupidity . But my computer is so archaic now that I probably couldn't run this new version even to see what it's like.
