I heard about that half a week ago. It's good for a start but certianly not enough for war. They're desperate if that's all they need.

Didn´t the american government claim to have evidence againt Iraq, but never presented if before the UN. What happened to that evidence?
    Was it a lie?

That's not the point. There was an agreement with the UN that they wouldn't import or make missile components. The presence of those warheads clearly shows that Iraq violated this agreement. It doesn't matter if they were empty or not.

That's no reason for war but it certainly is reason for punishment of some sort for breaking the rules.

As far as I know this isn't old news, it's breaking news for today.

Like what???? We've bombed them practically back to the stone age (and continue to bomb them periodically), the people are starving because of our goddamn sanction that have been imposed upon Iraq since the first Gulf War, no body in the world like Hussein (including most of the other Middle Eastern countries so no one is about to help out)...Bush doesn't want Hussein in control that's all there is to it.

The CIA and NSA are ongoing in their claims of evidence. The problem with presenting it is that then the sources are compromised, and for the time being they're protecting the Iraqi leaks. There are lots of Senators and Congressmen protesting war in Iraq and Bush's policies, but as Elbereth pointed out, the Senate and House Intelligence Committees have access to this classified information, and even the Democrats (political party opposing Bush's Republicans) within them are keeping quiet. It's probably more than coincidence...

    no

they might be really old components that weren't made recently. further analysis is needed. this story shouldn't have hit news stands right away.

What evidence it is could be a huge factor. I mean, if we have satellite photos of a nuke, you can probably show it. If we have intelligence of Iraqi's plan to launch a nuke into Israel on Feb 1st, if we revealed that, what's stopping them from launching it now, before we can stop them?

And Jake, finding warheads that weren't listed in excellent condition shows that they violated the agreement. The inspectors said that themselves, and whether you choose to admit it or not, the UN weapon inspectors know a lot more about aging warheads than you do.

Just as long as you're not in Quebec you should be fine. Everybody wants to nuke them for all this lame separation junk. ;)
