Wanna bet? Parents have special powers (at least that is what my kids think!). BTW My oldest is 9. I can control nearly everything still, but I don't have to. She knows what is OK, and what isn't. And actually you are right, you don't make them do anything, you teach them so that they want to do the right thing. All I usually have to say when my kids do something I don't like is "I'm very disappointed", and they really want to do better. Ahh, the absolute Power! Of course, all of this goes out the window when they are too young to understand - our youngest walks all over us.
