I built a new gaming PC a few months ago. CPU = 4770k RAM = 32GB DDR PC1600 Video = GTX 780 HDD = Intel DC S3500 600GB Case = Silverstone TJ08B The GPU has some coil whine under load. I have read this is common for today's high end video cards. Fortunately you can't hear it when the case is closed. The PSU itself also had some whine. It was a Seasonic X750W. I ended up replacing it with a 750W Rosewill brand (newegg's brand) which doesn't have that problem.
Your setup looks super clean on the inside, very nicely done. I have a question for you, were you able to get your front ports working properly on your case? I've had bad luck with that in the cases I've bought, including one that literally fried part of the motherboard (I was on my computer, look over and see sparks flying).
I hear you. It's really unfortunate the direction Microsoft has taken their OS with 8 and now 10; and Apple with their desktop PC (turning them into appliances). Very few choices out there for alternative operating systems (although I notice Wasteland 2 runs in Linux, which is interesting).
