Do you like the new eMac?
Don't much care for it. Would moreso if it weren't just for education, but otherwise it's just plain stupid. Antiquated hardware and education only, pretty dumb.
No. It is fugly. Just like the new imac and just like the flat screen LCDs.
Hey...for $999 that aint too damn bad. 700 mhz G4.
And it has the 17" screen that everyone always ranted against the IMac for.
I have only eyes for the DP G5, however long it takes to be released...
No, it's ugly and useless. Maybe apple should stop targeting schools since they can't afford their computers. Bring out some real towers for the professionals before they lose them as well.
uh yeah, well put COW.
What apple should do it make OSX able to install and run on a winbox. Or make Win able to run on a mac box. Thus making it so I can dual boot on either.
Where is the smilie in this post?
There isn't one. fewl.

i go to a dc public school, where they can't afford to fix the doors, and the arts department can't afford supplies. however, there are rooms full of macs.
i think they just give em to my school
What happened to the rest of the posts in this thread?
split off into another thread in the open discussion forum (processor argument).
Hey Dapork, I may or may not teach in DC. I'm still not sure, as for the older components for public schools think of it this way....does a public school need a GF4?, or a dual 1GHZ G4? I don't really think so, most educational software doesn't need that much power. However, the proof of whether or not the eMac is a good idea will come when we see the sales numbers for next quarter, so until then I'll just shut up.
There are no educational games I know of that need a better processor than the eMac has. The eMac will run OS X and Office X. Some high schools might need good processors for Photoshop or video editing, but they usually get custom computers anyway. Good for college, too, in the library and stuff. Like I said before, it wouldn't work in the graphics department.
I love the new eMac!!!
