Is this a debate about debates?

I'm most likely going to stay now. I just want to primarily avoid debates and cow, I will listen to what you said with the proofreading of the topic.

Agreed. (Refering to aleldtritch.) Which is why mud's idea is a good one. People who want to branch off into a debate can do so without taking over a thread. That way you don't have to be participating in a debate (visually), while you're trying to view the original thread. Proofreading is a good idea too. Thanks cow.

Every thread that has turned into a debate has been split off at the originating post, there's nothing stopping people from resuming the original thread...

Yes. Eventually... I guess we just need to say "No, I don't want to debate this", more often. Sadly, some might think that a sign of weakness and that your position has no validity when you're really just not in the mood to debate.

    My head hurts :bonk:

Toooo much input. This thread has gotten quite long winded.

Oh, and cow does get picked on quite a bit. Part of it may be his personality, he's very strong minded and has very strong opinions, so it's easy to target him. I'd say, maybe just back up a bit. He says very intelligent things, and sometimes people react emotionally, very quickly without thinking through his post. I admit sometimes I poke fun, mostly at his "grammar nazism", but it's never intended to hurt his feelings, and never intentionally a personal attack.

The Clevers have there thoughts too.

"Gee Wally I fill I need to say something."

    "You just did, Bev."

"Nooo I mean something insightful and witty"

"What, like all the stuff thats been said here?"

"Ya, well most of it is."

"Bev, I hate to tell you this but all the humor and whit has been sucked dry out of this thread. Granted it was good, some of the best i've ever seen but now its becoming the old folks home. All the residents are doing there best they can but everything is dryed up and wrinkled, sucked dry of all its lifeforce. They still make noise even though there teeth have fallen out. Lips are still smacking around repeating whats already been repeated. Hell the people who said they were leaving are becoming the most active members. "

"So Bever, what do you think you could add to the debate about debates anyways"

"Well Wally, I was thinking of "GET OVER IT!" or "ARE YOU EVER GOING TO LEAVE!!" maybe "I DON'T BELIEVE I'VE WASTED 45 MIN. OF MY LIFE READING THIS THREAD WHEN I COULD HAVE BEEN HAVING SEX WITH MY WIFE AGAIN.!!!" But if might offend some people or might not be direct enough for other. I guess I'll have to think about it some more"

When does cow get picked on? I certainly don't. He's generally fine in my books.

That was the line of thinking, not you. Get over it please. I won't make the mistake of coming so close to an insult again.

this thread has become nothing but faultfinding. Everyone shut up and keep your harsher opinion to yourselves.

And BTW, anyone who takes 45min to read a thread doesn't belogn on the Internet.

no. The threads here become ridiculously long and the posts are obese, it's like reading a book if you aren't there from the beginning.
