    He got an iMac for his cyber-schooling :D WELCOME TO MACINTOSHDOM. But he can't download anything because the school limited his priveleges. There will be a way superstar, there WILL BE A WAY!

    Yes, the CRT one!!

    ONE PROBLEM: THEY RESTRICTED HIM FROM MOVING FILES, UNSTUFFING, ETC. IT IS A PROGGIE CALLED "ONGUARD".

    How can we breach this?

    Reformat, or buy a real Mac.

    or change the permissions, or get a login and password with more permissions.

    Does he own the computer...? If he does the best thing to do is reformat; if he can't because of school work or something then I can help you.

    Changing permissions by that program considers access to it first. I thought you were talking about administering an OS X local account.

    security programs have permissions, don't they? :bonk: :p

    if he can't change permissions then he needs a login that can.

    Boot with extensions off or from the OS 9 CD and turn them off and nuke from there...

    My thoughts exactly. We'll try it tomorrow. It has OS X pre-installed, buuut, he havy no accessx0rs. All this will change. :D :evil:

    did you get the iMac from a university store or something?

    damn security programs. I'd boot from a CD then nuke the system folder.

    It's been done!

    Guru did it! Thanks to all the retards at the cyber school, they forgot to lock all of the control panels with OnGuard. We went into extensions manager and BAM! It's just like my own computer now. Just like stealing candy from a baby... not that i would do that or anyhthin... :suspect:
