    Wrong.
    ----------
    pa·gan (pgn)
    n.

    1. One who is not a Christian, Muslim, or Jew; a heathen.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    [Middle English from Late Latin pgnus, from Latin country-dweller, civilian, from pgus, country, rural district; see pag- in Indo-European Roots.]
    ----------
    So, like I said, it's a term given by christians to those who are not christian. Or more accurately, those who are not one of the religions similar to christianity.

    Heathen is a similar term meaning "from the heath" or from the country. i.e. not civilized and not believing in the gods of civilization (from the Roman point of view).

    Of course some pagans do believe in nature as god/goddess, but the term pagan is not restricted to those beliefs.

    sorry to pick nits, i'm just wanting to keep the facts straight [IMG]

    Name1 Cirocco, an Amazon,

    Cirocco is the main character in John Varley's "Titan." It is a sci-fi book and the main character is a trail blazing adventure seeking captain. Good read, i suggest it to all you sci-fi fans out there, it is kind of like Niven's "Ringworld."

    Name2 Doc Hopper, a Necromancer when i get bored with my Amazon or when the Necro population goes down

    Doc Hopper was the bad guy from one of the muppet movies, he owned a chain of french-fried frogs legs. I got the handle when i signed up for my first BBS, and i didn't know what an alias was, the aforementioned movie was playing and they just said that name, and it was stuck with me ever since.

    my name is similar to mud's....trying to find a name, took four seconds.
    i, like jade have faith in SOMETHING, but necessarily in any fixed religeon. organized religions are always made by imperfect men who tend to contradict themselves.
    and pagans ARE religious. i come from a religious family(although my beliefs are different) and there are prayers at church that mention PAGAN SAINTS. i don't know...the whole saint thing tends to suggest that they are religious.

    I chose this name, simply because all my favorite book characters were always taken, so I like end up pissed off. Garet Jax, Drizzt Do Urden, Rand Al'thor, Wulfgar, Artemis Entreri, all these are always taken sooo fast!!!
    My character name therefore, ended up being my real name spelled backwards. One plus is it sort of does sound like a real name. Which I guess makes it original. Try pronouncing it. It sounds different.

    Onisama is Japanese

    depending upon how you pronounce it, Onisama means either "Big Brother" or "Demon Lord" or "Ghost/Spirit Lord".

    Either way, it fits. [IMG]
    And it's kind of scary how well it fits.

    Disclamer:
    This information was given to me by the friends who dubbed me onisama. One's an Anime buff who is attempting to teach herself Japanese, the other is currently teaching English in Japan. So they should know more than I. So far I haven't seen anything to contradict what I have been told, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that I had been given inaccurate info. [IMG]

    Mendel;

    Rough english/spanish mixture here...i was creating a necromancer so I wanted a conspicous and crazy name, kindof wierd, I decided to use spanglish and Use "Men" as in male, or many males, and "Del" spanish for "Of It (Masculine). So, it means, "Men Of It". It is out to get you [IMG]

    Deltana;

    If i make another char, the first one will be Deltana, and it will probably be a Sorceress or Amazon. "Delta" is the fourth Greek letter and symbolizes change in engineering/science. Tacking a gender to it means "She who changes".

    Leychron;

    If i make a third char, it will be Leychron. Most likely a Paladin here. Comes from the spanish word "Leyendo", or Legend, and the latin term "chrono/chron" meaning "Time." Roughly translated, it means, "Legend of Time".

    "Keeksy" is a Scotish word that describes something that is fithly or disgusting (and that fits the Necromancer pretty well). I'm not certain if the word is truely Scotish because I don't speak the language, but my grandfather used it, and he was Scotish. I'm guessing it's slang. I like it anyway no matter where it's from.
