Re: Re: Re: What will your next new Mac be?

I was waiting for the G5 which would revitalise Apple's offerings but it's too late now. It's coming in January at the earliest and will be debuting in the 1.5ghz area.

Maybe Apple will ditch Motorola and get a real chip maker but until then they'll always be pathetically behind.

Apple can't even stay competitive with the PPC. Consumers have shown Apple that they want numbers, and Apple can't deliver.

well there are always the AMD rumors, and who knows? Apple could be developing something big atm. I don't think apple has ever been really dependant on the people who look at the "numbers" alone so as long as they can get something nice out soon they'll be OK.

    INFINITE SUCK LOOP

And profits mean that Apple's charging too much for their hardware.

Apple usually sits back for a year and a half then announces a whole bunch of shit that rocks the market. OSX 10.1.4 and the iPod came out same time as the new iMac, so it'll be 18 monthes since those before anything big happens. Thats what I lke about apple: major upgrades come 18 months after you buy ther computer instead of a million small upgrades to waste money on.

With DDR at 400MHz now, I really hope they don't release a Mac w/ 266 or 333MHz RAM...

There is no standard for 400mhz ddr ram. Neither 333. Why would Apple release a new system based on a technology that has of yet no standard?
