Or they could make the entire movie into 5000 small tv ads showing 1 new every day...
Actually that probably would have worked out better, though movies make more money for them.
That would be cool. but you wouldnt be able to keep track, and releasing it on DVD would be a struggle, VHS neigh impossible, and watching 66 hours of footage....
Yeah, but I doubt they would make much money off it
The whole trilogy cost 270mill to make, thats 30mill an hour so assuming the costs stay at that level 66 hours would cost 1,980,000,000.
Now 66 hours yeilds 2112 30 second ad spots(16mins of ads/hour) so to break even they would need to charge 937,500 per add spot(about 1/2 as much as it costs to run a spot during the superbowl)
Woo that was confusing.
lol I just said that. hehe
Hmmm, On further consideration if they could get eps done for 10mill(B5 was done for 1mill/ep) each then they would only need to get 312,500(ER gets 600,000) for each add spot to break even. So if they could get the same amount as ER they would end up with a PROFIT of 607,200,000
They wouldn't have to. The Bilbo in the preface of FotR was the right look for a young Bilbo (where it shows him finding the Ring in Gollum's cave)
I just saw the movie. It was okay and all but they changed so many things that I was somewhat disgusted.
Other than these few moments of disapointment I really liked it over-all. Especially the conversations that Gollum had with himself. Those were quite well done. The scene where the Ents attack and let the river loose was impressive.
seeing it tomorrow....
omg me too!!!
You see? The book ruins the movie.
You should judge the movie for what it is.
If I judged the movie on it's own I'd still say that they rushed things too much. Especially at the beginning. No detail in the chase. No need to read the book to notice that. They also fell prey to the "lets make a character the comic relief to make the movie appeal to more people" trick. Same as Lucas did in Episode 1 with Jar Jar only actually well done.
Either that or the director.
Still a good movie though. I had a really nice time watching it.
Just got back from seeing it.... I thought it was great... I thought about warcraft 3 while I was there, and how similar the ending in both of them are.. 3 different races uniting to crush a common evil.
I do have one small observation though.
300 vs 10,000? I say give the 300 AWP's.... they could kill all of the enemies!!!!
Those three races should never have been except for the presence of Legolas and Gimli. In the books the elves never came. Now all we see is the ineptitude of man to make it without the elves and not the fact that they were ready to take over rule of Middle-Earth.
The movie was better for action people but not entirely for people who like subtle nuances and storyline.
Given the basic 2 clips per man on a 10 round/clip AWP that most people would likely get in real life you would have 6000 shots. You'll have to hit through a couple men at once to win. Even with three they'd be short. Give them nade launchers if you're going high tech.
btw The ending of WC3 sucked. Very disapointing. Everyone I know has switched back to SC now.
let us never forget the amount of arrows Legolas can fire without changing the quiver. I think 4 Clips per person is suitable
