yeah that's it
hmmm interesting thought here...sorry if it is blurry but the caption reads
C: what if we die and it turns out god is a big chicken then what?
M: just eat your dinner ok?
C: eternal consequences thats what!
Actually, the only difference I have noticed is that Catholic Bibles include the Apocrypha. No protestant version I have ever seen is missing Ecclesiastes.
Seen any Anglican versions? I think they still don't have it.
hmmm, weird. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would be controversial
well, here is a little bashing of everyone:
Adam and Eve, the Genesis and all that. A+E make the sons Cain and Abel. Cain gets mad and kill Abel in an argument. Now there is Cain, Adam, and Eve. Now two things: either god magically made more people like he did with A+E so we wouldn't have to commit incest, or they commited incest. Either way, it really takes away the importance of the two because a:they werent the only ones made, not born or B: they were lecherous pigs.
Allah says to not be violent, that is not the way of the true Muslim. OKAY, but then he goes to say anyone who dies defending Islam goes to heaven ---DOUBLE STANDARD---. Now anyone who dies killing non-muslims is defending the faith... losers.
Worlds oldest religion. Initially, the belief was that the earth was on the back of a humongous turtle in space. (or was that chinese?) nuff said. (Karma Sutra is good tho)
hmm reincarnation- too hard to prove. Mostly its a Philosophy as opposed to a religion. I like it better than the others (lol im a 16m white shmuck whos gonna go buddhist)
5)fundamentalists of any kind
man thay suck- evangelizing all over the place and excommunicating or burning anything they dont agree with. THe ones that scare me the most are the "Faith-healing" groups and the "islamic Jihadists".
Logic is the best way: what you can see and observe.
if we did all come from adam and eve, we'd be like the people in the movie waterboy from combining weak genes
Adam and Eve had many more sons and daughters after Cain and Abel, but Adam and Eve were the 2 first humans, no other families were made parallel to them. Call it incest if you want, but it was only for one generation. After that the children of the different couples could marry and stuff.
...According to all religions we were incestuous. Unless the other gods in other religions created a load of people at the beginning then they'll all incestuous as well.
Evolution...we evolved from humans that lived in small tribes for many generations with no other with whom to breed.
man, if that's really true we're missing out on a lot of high-iq telepathic action!!!
man incest sux
the entire concept of creationism seems absurd to me.
There's still time to evolve all that stuff. Look at what the Morlocks did in 800,000 years. I went to see that movie the other day, pretty cool.
Incest alone wouldn't explain our lack of such high level mental abilities. God could have created a bunch of families on earth, none of which would've had such talents, and even then non-incestual relationships wouldn't yield such "magical" abilities, just out of thin air. No, there'd have to be the genes there in the first place.
what movie is that? and who were the morlocks
The Time Machine. the morlocks are teh bad guys. the movie sucks but has good graphix.
I liked it.
The book of genesis was made up. History didn't exist back then.
agreed- my point is that the Bible is bunk, because it contradicts itself so much. So is most other religion.
As Incubus sez: "make yourself!"
It was written after being orally passed down from generation to generation.
Name one and I'll get to work on disproving it.

you are already decided which kind of defeats the point. question everything, always.
Genesis was written by, I believe Paul, who wrote it down after supposedly having his eyes "opened" by God to see the creation.
Genesis is the interpretation of creation by the writer, you have to remember that the writer is from thousands of years ago and he had no knowledge of the universe or anything so it's very subjective.
I listened to a very interesting talk that related creation to the birth of a planet. It made a lot of sense. Although it was presented to us in a seven day format it does not mean that this was the way it occured. It's all an interpretation.
