What's the concensus on this? I'd be in favor of one. They consume minimal bandwidth... Talking is so much faster than typing.

I am not opposed to the idea if enough people are interested.

I didn't even know what it was - just looked it up. No Mac client, I'm out.

TeamSpeak 2 was released more than a year ago. They're working full steam on version 3, which will have a Mac client and server. Apple Netherlands donated several G4's to the dev team to help them with the Mac port.

Ventrilo has a Mac client already. We can use that.

We could get a 10 man GameComm server for free. Its like ventrilo/teamspeak but better, trust me. It has a built in forum, chat rooms, etc. Its very nice.

That is a requirement in our case since we have a good number of Mac users.

We also don't need forums and chat rooms, and I'm guessing that Jake would rather host any such service himself than outsource.

Yeah, I could probably run the service on my web server.

I'm willing to get a microphone (I already have an iMic) - but not a PC just to run a voice chat. :)

    I wish iChat would work.

Not it doesn't. The Mac client is in development. They only have a Mac server. :(

I don't know of any other chat proggies that have Mac clients. Anyone?
