Confuscious say "Man who fart in church, sit in own pew"

I don't know swords, but Dun i'll admit you have quite an impressive knowledge there, i knew about the tempering and folding methods, but that's it, and like you said,
Folding, mmm mmm good, somewhere around 20 would be sweet

hey this isnt really about swords as much as knives...but does anyone know how this is done? I know that damascus swords looked the way they did because of how they were made....but i just can't figure out how you could make a piece of metal so intricate as some of these. Check out this site and see if you can clue me in. There are a few really cool looking knives.

They had a really cool article about this in an issue of Scientific American. Basically, it's the impurities in the steel that make the patterns.

yea i get that...but is it the same thing for these knives? how can they get the specific patterns and stuff. Like in one he made an american flag. Complete with all the stars and stripes. Every star having five points. I just dont understand how that would work.

He's not doing damascus steel, though. He's doing a folding thing like they do with those christmas candies. They start out with a large bar of individual pieces of metal and decrease the size. It's incredible.

Ah, but this was facetious, you see. The reason it's funny is that it's supposed to be an Asian person making fun of the original poster's atrocious grammar, not me making fun of Asians. There's a difference. :D
