Good idea. Dumb quicktime.
Wind farms on the ocean seems like the way to go.
only problem is that wind power requires so much space for the windmills. that wind farm they talked about is gigantic. wind power is PART of the answer, but other sources like solar are needed as well. that and LEGISLATION forcing the idiotic car companies in this country to make their vehicles economical.
Exactly. Things are rarely all one way. A good mix of these "newer" technologies would certainly be the best route.
that movie insults my intelligence
In SimCity 2000, you had to make a lot of wind power plants to make up for the nuclear power plants, even though the nuclear ones were $40,000
Fusion Power Plants were $40,000. Nuclear Power Plants were only $16,000 (if I remember correctly), and they produced about 2/3 as much power.
What we need is to stick a outlet on the sun, and get a really long extention cord down to Earth
i volunteer to be in charge of the distribution of that power.
you can be the one to stick the cord in the sun.
We should build a Dyson Sphere around our sun.
(let's see who else knows what that is)
We've all talked about that Trek episode before, I'm just mentioning it because it'd be a good alternative energy source... just a bit.
Or compromise and build something like they did in Ringworld. Let's see if you know what I mean by that.
We could do like on the Rescue Rangers; Abduct all the cute, talking kittens of the world and use a giant robotic lighting-rod with hands to rub them on shag carpet to generate Electricity
Psst... Larry Niven.
I think we tried that last year but we had the wrong kind of cat...
That episode was cool.
Am I the only one that thought that Gadget was hot?
