I came up with this routine that works really well if you are having sinus problems. I use it to get rid of post nasal drip from seasonal allergies. Regular gargling doesn't clean out your sinuses but this will.

Prepare a solution of half salt water and half hydrogen peroxide. Gargle with your head back and then breath out your nose while gargling. Breath out your nose a few times and it will spurt some of that gargling solution into your sinuses. I do this until it starts dripping out my nose. Then do the same thing with plain water to rinse it out. To finish off I snort some saline spray which soothes the sinuses and helps to flush out any remaining stuff.

The peroxide burns a little bit. The half and half solution is just right. Don't use the pure 3% stuff without diluting it. And go light on the salt.

Just to confirm, would this work on the common cold?
