    in 3d games if your refresh and frame rates are to much out of sync (not sure what exactly that constitutes) then it will give the appearance of choppy graphics even though the framerates are high. (i heard this some where and verified it some where else).

    Also, try turning on v-Sync to fix it. (a game specific option)

    That sounds plausible. Are you using the Beta version of OpenGL or the stable version? They might have to optimize them for the V5 if they haven't already.

    the "stable" version released by apple... the beta version ran much better...
