Where did you get this? I have heard the opposite.
The beta was done by Graeme Devine. It was fast and win. Aspyr/westlake did the final port. It stank.
And Giants is missing a whole lot of options since OpenGL on os x didn't support it yet...or was it the video cards?
Linkage please. I would like to learn more.
i searched all over the net and could only find masturbation. does anyone else know who had the articles about OS X opengl and giants features?
all my searches return porn too
Im not able to find anything to support your statements. You dont remember anything about where you got it from???
i thought it was on IMG or macgamer.com but i couldn't find any such article in their history. the article talked about OS X's opengl and how it doesn't support vertex shaders and bump mapping and stuff and how giants is crippled visually because of that. then something about the next OS X opengl (2.0?) will support these features.
i remember reading that too.
IMG has an article that says Giants works with pixel and vertex shaders. But I cant find anything on why Giants doesnt support Bump Mapping.
//edit. I hate to assume things, but I am assuming it doesnt because there isnt Opengl standards for that and they didnt want to do it themselves. Should be in Opengl 2.0. I have read that Giants doesnt support Opengl on PC.
you are CORRECT sir! although i thought it was going to be included with openGL 1.3
isn't giants a DirectX game on pc?
From your original post, I had the impression that it supported Opengl and had features that didnt make it to mac. But actually, they ported to Opengl when porting to Mac. Another example of how ports are 'hacked in'.
this touches on the feature support a bit: http://www.insidemacgames.com/news/story.php?ArticleID=5429
