i've been messing with the os x style on my test site. i just brought it over to the main site. the shoutbox and minicalendar are only on the portal page now while the forums stand by themselves. so the portal is now one stop shopping, the forums are forums. forum pages are more snappy now and also render faster (this was a problem with the os x style, especially on classic IE because of the insane ammounts of nested tables).

also, i have decided to disable all styles except the os x style. it was a pain to have to update 5 template sets whenever i changed something. there were other inconveniences as well. this makes things much easier for me. and since the latest os x style is faster loading (less server overhead per page, also smaller pages) as well as faster rendering (client) i'm hoping everyone will approve. (like you have a choice! :nya: ) ;)

Heartbreak Ridge. It's kind of a war movie, but really funny. It's about old Gunnery Sargeant Thomas Highway who's been in the brig for assaulting an officer. He comes out a decade later, having gone in just after Vietnam. He's all battle hardened and tough, has a CMH and a host of other medals. Anyway, they assign him drill instructor for Recon Platoon in a Marines battalion lead by a cocky young Captain who insists that these old dinosaurs are the end of the "new Marines".

Oh ya, and the GSgt. is played by none other than Clint Eastwood :D.

Cluster**** has been around for much longer than that. It has been used in the military for a looong time.

Jake, if you're not using the right column any more with the forums, then use 100% table widths so it fills my window. This wasted blue is annoying :p.

    You will comply :borg:.

I've had an overdose of Trek today, just tried the Star Trek Armada II demo. I don't think that one's worth buying. It's interesting and all, but the controls and views are really sloppy and it's really unpolished. If they'd taken an extra year to develop it and make it really clean and good, then it'd be awesome. It's a great story / idea with bad execution.

    That is all.

it's too wide...and if there's a thread with more than one page, and you click on a number to go to that page, it brings you to the first page

Then just make the tables a bit wider. Don't have to get rid of all the blue, there's just a fair bit of it.

you're prolly not clicking exactly on the number. i have the cell mouse-over thing going now. so if you don't click on the link then you are clicking on the cell and it will go to the first page of the thread. the multi page links are working fine.
