it doesn't matter what "everyone else" thinks about this situation. the vast majority of world leaders (the people that matter) are behind the US.

    Gestures, nothing more.

Seriously, countries are dedicating support to the US in exchange for favors in the future.

Goal: completely free trade with the US, or in other cases, lifting economic sanctions.

Those that are already our allies will expect future support also, maybe even more dramatic "gifts" for giving "unwavering" support to their best friend, the United States, in its greatest time of need.

Goal: Military sales, lifted tariffs, etc.

Those who don't expect anything from the US just go along with everyone else so they don't get on the US's "bad side" after the US finishes dealing with Bin Laden.

    Goal: Minimizing retaliations

    Ugh, I hate politics :D

Not funny, the Afghani people have had to suffer enough under the taliban and now you want to punish them more.

The Taliban wouldn't be in power if they didn't have support. There must be at least one or two people in their country who support the leadership. Completely ignoring these people is wrong.

The Taliban rule through fear with the help of outsiders like Bin Laden. There's no point in bombing Kabul as there's next to nothing left to bomb. Going on previous cock-ups,Chineese embassy in Belgrade, the bomb shelters in Baghdad, your air-force will probably bomb Afghanistans only synagogue.

I'm not for turning the country into a glass parking lot, that's wrong. Just send a SEAL team in to assassinate Bin Laden and torch his training camps. Kill any opposition, that ought to spread some of our own terror.

No, but we're allowed to defend our nation. Same with the missile defense shield, I don't give a shit what Russia thinks, we have the human right to protect ourselves.

I just saw this on Recess (hey, I like the show). TJ was dreaming about becoming president. A warning light started blinking and he turned himself into SeƱor Fusion. Then he said, "It's time for some nuclear diplomacy!" I thought that it was really funny.
