i checked with some people, and they say that the e-mails that were sent out were some sort of auto-reaffirmation for orders more than 30 days old. *whew* scared a few people :D

I'm sorry, Apple's sole cd-burner's 2x4x6 speeds are unable to cope with the large amount of os x orders. Due to Apple's crap USB bus the cds have to be burned at 2x even though the burner says 4x. Your copy of os x should be delivered within 6-7 months.

    Thank you,
    Apple Marketing.

'Sorry, our cd burner isn't working, so we're pushing out the cds on an an old dos box with a parallel port burner. It'd probably be faster if we scrached the cds by hand, but what can you do?'

Heehee. My friend bought a parallel 250 zip drive for his pc. What a waste! Do you know how it'd take to transfer 250 megs over parallel?

    AcK!

Apple store confirmed that os x will be delivered on time and that there will be no delays.

you people actually think they use commercial grade burners for mass reproduction? Dude...they use industrial grade burners that can burn quite a bit faster than commercial grade (not sure exactly how fast, but if in a month they can make couple million + CD's...)

no no no.. they don't even use burners... they use stampers... they are like 200 times faster than a burner because they just well... stamp the cds....
