Radeon vs Geforce 2 MX returned

    The MX turns out to be one tough competitor. It edges out the Radeon in several tests, but falls behind in hi-quality gaming and 2D like I predicted. For you potential buyers out there, I suggest going with the Radeon. This article forgot to mention its stellar DVD playback capabilities and overclocking potential. Also note, the Radeon tested was a retail model, not the OEM version preinstalled in Mac desktops. The results should remain the same however. Only get a MX if you work a lot with 3D apps. I can't wait to see what a 733MHz G4 can do with these cards. :)

    BTW, check out the Photoshop benchmarks!! No wonder desktop publishers use Macs!! :D

    Well if you read the FAQ at nvidia they aren't planning on releasing the geforce2 mx as a retail choice. That usually means that they released the mx just as a tantalizer before they release their big card (ie...ATI with their Rage Maxx for wintel boxes just before the radeon was released).
