it appears to be percentage based, my level 14 blood elf reports 73 mana on the talent tree.
PTR full of beggars wanting respec money. I have given out hundreds of gold. Why aren't respecs free on the PTR?
It appears that Blizzard has locked down the macro functions to exclude anything that uses items or casts spells. You can still use macros to equip items from your bags.
You can't command your water elemental (tier 9 frost mage) while mounted. I am curious to know if pets have always been that way? I have no prior experience with pets. Note that you can still control it while ice blocked.
Also on the topic of pets... there seems to be no way to directly control the water elemental. He only has aggressive, defensive, passive, stay, follow, and attack. I know hunters can directly control pets. What about warlocks? I was hoping for direct control.
Re: macro functions
I was wrong. You can use new commands like:
/use Black Battlestrider
/use Talisman of Ephemeral Power
But the old commands don't work (eqivalent to the above commands):
/script UseContainerItem(0, 4)
Ice Lance is instant cast. Interesting that I never knew about this and never saw any forum posts... as if mages don't talk about buffs, only nerfs.
that is how hunter pets work also. the only time hunters can direct control pets you cant attack, only run around as your pet.
warlock and hunter pets can be told who to attack and when to use their abilities, but that's about it. "Eyes of the Beast" is just for scouting(and pulling) purposes. no class can control a pet while mounted, they're locked into passive mode.
this goes for /script SpellStopCasting() on the beta realm as well, the replacement is /stopcasting. update those counterspell macros!
I was disappointed about the /script thing since that's the only way to chain multiple actions into a single line... the idea being that you don't clutter up your chat log with multiple commands. It also adds some atomicity to the macro. However, I just ran some tests on the PTR, and it appears that macros no longer clutter up the log.
Auto, do you know if there is any BC macro for this?
I can replace the spell and trinket actions easily enough, but I am concerned that there might not be a replacement for the cooldown checks.
wrong on eyes of the beast. you can attack with it. i do it all the time.
i can try some things, but it seems like any action that cant be bound directly to a key can no longer be tied to a macro.
i guess i may have worded that poorly, i meant that nobody has used this as an offensive ability to great effect since the bug at release that kept your pet unflagged for pvp but it could still attack players.
Untrue. They still have tons of logical if's in the new macro system that can't be mapped to buttons.
I researched this for a couple hours today. The current answer is no, there is no way to achieve the same result under the new macro system. All classes are complaining about this.
The good news is that they added a boolean for "channeling" which was the only problem with my macro as described later in that thread, but they had to introduce this new more annoying problem at the same time.
oh wow, that IS cool.
more info on new macros:
holy shit megainfos
/castsequence reset=combat/target Corruption, Immolate, Curse of Agony
It turns out the "channeling" condition isn't quite what I thought. For example, "channeling" is true for the duration of Arcane Missiles, but not for the cast time of Frostbolt. That means it won't work for what I want. Now my macro has two problems.
Ouch, respecced Arms from Protection, and with my DPS gear was able to in the course of one swing count (3.8 speed sword) flat out kill a 54 elite. Sure sword spec procced, but man thats nasty. That talent that causes more damage to every damage source while the target is bleeding is all kinds of sweet. Going to spec Fury tonight for a few and try that out too.
