I have said it several times in guild chat, but some people still blurt out some very cutting words when they get upset. Tonight a new recruit left because of harsh language in guild chat.

On a related note, it is important that you speak up when you have a problem. I don't blame the new recruit for leaving, but I do blame him for leaving without saying a word and for ignoring an apology.

In summary, avoid using harsh language and be open and accepting in your communication about problems. We don't need the hostile atmosphere that is caused by harsh language, or the tension that is caused by unresolved problems like what happened tonight.

Yea I agree actually. I have been pretty lewd lately myself and I am going to cut it out. There are to many people who get offended by this and I dont want to make anyone feel uncomfortable.

I am talking about stuff like, "what the ****! mother ****ing ****."

Your comments are more dirty than harsh. :bendover:

That's too bad. I've been guilty myself of getting a little carried away at times (especially when complaining about PvP), and I will also make an effort to keep the bad language to myself. You have to remember it's just a game and it should be a fun environment for everyone.

Keep in mind it's just as easy to hit ESC as it is to hit return. Unlike when speaking, you have the opportunity to pull your statement back. If you're venting, or even just joking around, and you type something that may be too harsh, please reconsider before putting it in chat.

And if you MUST vent, feel free to send it to me in a /whisper. There's very little you could say or do in game to offend me. :D

I am sorry all. I will leave the guild as soon as i get the chance. I am abosolutely sorry for causing this situation.

It has been fun playing with you guys. But I don't think I am worthy amongst you all. So bye.

Hmm.. Kinda made me feel bad for leaving my old guild. The situation was basically the same. Someone in the guild blew up on me. I contemplated the situation for a couple days, then I made the decision to leave the guild and posted my reasons why on the guild forum and next time I logged in I /gquit. I got an apology from the guild master, but not actually the person who did it. The guild master kinda said the same thing later on when they contacted me about being frustrated with me leaving before they had an oppurtunity to rectify it. But as far as I can tell no actions were taken and no follow up posts were made to discuss the problem. It was about 3 days later I got an invite to MSC. So I feel they could have done something between then.

We are a small guild and I think it makes us value our players more.

For me being a former Marine... I like to fight and use harsh language….I would like to say, if I also made someone upset “only in the guild”, I’m Sorry.

I dont think you have to worry about it Fujin. I think the only person it really would have upset is the guy that left. Things slip, just apologize and if they cant get over it then what can you do?
