    As Macs I think they are quite excellent but when I pit them against PCs I can't help but wish that they had made it to 1.5GHz. Still, this is a very good start. Let's just hope that they don't stop here.

    Next update, apple will drop them back to 1ghz. Then they wont be able to up it at the next update after that, and then finally after that one they'll bring 'em back up to 1.2ghz.

    I need to buy some parts to assemble my new 2.4GHz P4 chip. I can't wait to run SETI on it. I don't use my PCs for anything else.

    I run those too. PC#2 runs UD and SETI. PC #1 runs SETI, my new iMac runs F@H, and my old iMac runs SETI.

    I was just making a comment about the potential computing power of a 2.4GHz chip doing something lame like running SETI. Just like my new iMac which is essentially a console for D2.

    Hey, they did that with the 500MHz comps back in '99, ther's no reason why it couldnt happen again.
