i'm thinking about getting the 10GB one. i found out something...

    Size and weight (5GB model)
    Height: 4.0 in
    Width: 2.4 in
    Depth: 0.78 in
    Weight: 6.5 oz (185 g)

    Size and weight (10GB model)
    Height: 4.0 in
    Width: 2.4 in
    Depth: 0.72 in
    Weight: 6.5 oz (185 g)

    Size and weight (20GB model)
    Height: 4.0 in
    Width: 2.4 in
    Depth: 0.84 in
    Weight: 7.2 oz (204 g)

i always thought the iPod was already a little too thick, and now the 20GB iPod is thicker. no thx. i want the 10GB iPod because it's thinner.

Curious as to why anyone gets more than 5GB. Are you planning on using the drive as a backup too? 5GB fits so much music that it's not funny. Either way it's win but 5GB is obviously cheaper.

My iPod is always full and I have to take stuff off to put other things on. It's a hassle but the 20G won't solve my problem. I just need to stop buying CDs.

do you just copy the CD as-is or do you bother to convert to MP3? a 5gb will hold about 200 CDs worth if u use 128-bit compression.

Umm, Jake, do you realize that the 20GB is only 1/8" thicker then the 10GB, and the 5GB is only 1/16" thicker? Do you really think you'll notice the difference? Do you wear really tight pants or something?

200 cd's is almost his 'most played' play list.

(Baseera has a lot of music)

:yeah: I'm up to about 6k songs at iTunes default compression. I listen to music all day long..... I also have diverse tastes.

Lately I've been burning mp3 cds for my car. I make a disc with a bunch of different artists or just one big disc with a single artist. Like my 9 hour long Pink Floyd disc. It roxors!

    It's roughly a meg a minute for mp3s. So 20gb = 20,000 minutes. 20,000/64 = a lot.
