Not bad at all, though I personally wouldn't use a raid 0 because I am too paranoid about my data. I still have my Mac files from 10 years ago.

I have an external hard drive where I backup all my important data so I don't worry about it. I started doing this back when I had my really crappy computer that I had to format every few months.

    Holy. Shit.

    That's most definitely a Leet Gaming Rig™

I haven't been up on video cards recently. I had no idea they made 1gb models (although it doesn't surprise me... that amount of VRAM is just plain ridiculous)

How much is it setting you back?

The 7950 GX2 is two cards in one, hence the 1GB of RAM (double the normal maximum of current cards). It is its own SLI.

1GB video but only 2GB main? Since you seem to be going all out, get 10K RPM HDs instead of the 7200.

The raptor drives would have set me back another $200-$300. I had a budget of $2500 and I already went over it by $100 with the monitor. I had to cut back here and there to make sure I didn't go overboard with the spending.

Good. I'm starting to deal two or three hours a week now. And on top of that, I've been making some really good money. Last week I took home $930. Its hard work but making $3400/mo and only having $1800 in payments is definately worth it. I already have the two things I wanted to get this year: a plasma TV and a new computer.

Are the players generally decent or do you get a lot of shit? Players in AC can be jerks, especially the ones from NYC.

The casino I work at is for locals so they don't have to drive to the strip to gamble. So the same people come in every day and you get to know almost everyone playing. That makes for a good playing environment and a lot less "shit".

What do you do when you're not dealing?

And how much do you usually make in tips (did you factor that into the last numbers?)

You make a lot of money dude. Getting to spend it is the fun part :)

Is this an iBuyPower rig you are configuring?

Strange coincidence that I am getting very tempted to do the exact same thing. Would be my second IBuyPower setup and the system I am currently running is tapping out after 5 years. I have a relatively similar configuration in mind but with a few major differences. Why did you go with the Intel chip rather than AMD... and why the 2g PC6400 when you could find cheaper/better deals at places like toms?

I got the computer from CyberPowerPC.com. They had a Labor Day Weekend deal which took a lot off the top. About the CPU, my friend who builds computers said that the Core 2 Duo 2.67GHz is actually faster than the new AMD FX chips out right now. And the 2g RAM was the highest that the site had available. When my friend and I added up the costs of the individual parts vs. the CyberPowerPC.com price, the markup was very minimal so I just ordered it from them.

So I got my new computer... and it doesn't work. I plugged my monitor into the video card's DVI slot and nothing displayed. Also, one of the fans from inside the computer was malfunctioning making a pulsating sound as if the fan was starting and stopping. Obviously this was no coincidence. After calling tech support, doing some experiments and such, they concluded that the video card was bad and needed to be replaced. I took out the massive video card and started up the computer and it didn't make the fan sound. So the noise was coming from the video card which in return rendered the card unusable. In 3-5 days I shall know for sure. Please pray that the video card was the only problem.
