I went to see Napoleon Dynamite today (they finally showed it in my town). It was really funny. I encourage everyone to watch it (except for cow, because he won't like it) if it is showing in your area. Check out the trailer if you want to get an idea of what it's about.

When you watch it, make sure you stay after the credits for an extra scene that was added recently.

That's assumptive but probably correct because I think it's trying to make itself into a cult classic by copying past ones instead of letting it happen naturally.

Actually, Cow, the director intentionally changed the direction of these cult classic geek films, because he said he loved geek to hero films, but wanted to see one where the geek becomes a hero without actually changing in any way. So, it would seem to be a departure (although I haven't seen the movie, so I'm talking out of my ass).

...and you know what they say about "assume"

I didn't notice any blatant ripoffs of any cult classics. I forgot to mention that the chick in it, Tina Majorino, was the little girl with the map on her back from Waterworld. She is kinda hot, even when they try to make her less attractive (stop looking at me like that! She's 18 now, OK?).

The movie looks like stupid humor which never passes for me :( .. Zoolander sucked and it looks like one of those movies.

I thought the begining was very funny, however with the expection of the dance scene at the end the humor seems like it is always the same and the second half of the movie wilted

I forgot one cool thing. The beginning credits are really cool. Each name is written in mustard, ketchup, or other squeezeable edibles on a plate of food. As far as I know, it is the most original, coolest idea evar!

I see you're drinking 1 percent milk. Is that because you think you're fat? Because you're not. You could probably be drinking whole milk.

rent it, but dont rent it with any expectations. It will be so much better if you go into it without expecting something amazing. It really isn't. It has it's moments though.

I watched the DVD the first day it came out with a lot of my friends, some of whom had never seen it. If you have seen it, try to see it with a few people who haven't; it's twice as funny to watch them rolling around, laughing so hard they can't breathe. The deleted scenes are great. This is the first movie I actually want to watch again with the commentary turned on.

When I tried to buy it yesterday (the day after it came out on DVD), I tried Best Buy, Target, Comp USA, Good Guys, and Borders, but no luck, they were all sold out. I finally found a stack of 15-20 at Walmart, $5 cheaper than at all the other stores I tried.
