Hey, never saw a topic bout this yet, figured I'd give it a shot.

What is your favorite bands and songs?

I'll start, my favorite band is the beatles, and my CURRENT favorite songs are Hello Goodbye and A Day in the Life, both by the Beatles.

Another song I absolutely love is 99 Luftbaloons by Nena and any covers of it. The lyrics are so touching.

Well, lets give it a shot!

I don't particularly listen to music. I prefer silence or background noise.

    Queen is my favorite.

Close seconds: Dave Matthews Band, Nora Jones, Bryan Adams, Phil Collins, Creed, Fourplay, Chicago, most jazz & swing, most rock, most anything except rap and metal

I'm listening to t.A.T.U right now, despite to the fact that they are not straight, I can still enjoy their music (awsome music videos :D) I sometimes listen to rap, most of the time hip-hop. But what I can't stand is those heavy rock bands just screaming through out the whole song (bands like SlipKnot, KoRn, etc.)

Queen is amazing. As is DMB, and Bryan Adams' everything i do was covered by a popular punk group, new found glory. I love the cover of that song. Rap is a big no-no.... ENGLISH PLZ.

I do like a bit of techno, but in a different way from traditional music (that encompassing anything where the primary instruments are not digital).

Besides that, straight up contemporary rock like Inme (British band not State-side yet, try their "Firefly", I found a copy on KaZaA), and lighter emo-rock, like Shawn Mullins. I have quite varied musical taste. I'll appreciate anything that's not metal or modern rap. I'll give Eminem credit for a lot of talent, but he uses it to make music that's full of hate; not kosher.

wow, ok where to start. I will say this, I have over 450 cd's that cover just about all genera of popular music. (Just ask Jedsia, my wife). Right now Nickle Back is by far my #1 band. Jedsia also bought there previous album "The State" which is every bit as good as there "Silver Side Up". Yes I prefer rock and I have a good collection of it that covers about 4 decades. I like some metal but primarily Matalica rules here. I consider them very talented musicans that happen to play metal. I have a true love of traditional jazz because I played it in school.I did not learn how important jazz was to our culture of music here in the US until years later and gained a lot of respect for my old music teacher. Now that I sit at a desk for hours on end at work I've been burning mp 3's on a cdrw (over 100 per disk) and listen at work. With over 2500 songs on my computer I dont get to here many repeats. I also have classical and even some techno but haven't bought much of that recently. Hootie and the BLowfish have a new cd out. Heard clips form most of it, going to buy it this weekend. After all you can't have too much, can you?

I like alot of rock like Disturbed, Sevendust, Coldplay, Creed, Cold, The Smashing Pumpkins, RAtM, and the like. Both of my parents are classical musicians so I do enjoy that music and get to hear alot of it live. I also liek alot of Techno.

I listen to all sorts of stuff, except classical, most rap, and most techno/trance.

I'd have to say that the bands I am most loyal to are Linkin Park, Incubus, and Third Eye Blind, but I listen to the latter two less and less these days. Right now I'm hooked on:

    A Perfect Circle
    Something Corporate <-- good emo
    Linkin Park
    Taproot
    Mew
    Injected
    Eminem
    any trance by Oakenfold
    Rammstein
...I'll add more later since I know i've forgotten some.

You probably already know Rammstein, the inustrial-metal German group. Sometimes it's better not to understand what they are singing.

Mew is a Danish band. My mom has been friends with the guitarist's mother since high school (long story) and on a recent visit, my mom's friend brought over the CD "Frengers (not quite friends but not quite strangers)" interesting wordplay there. The instruments are great, sounds like Incubus meets Jimmy Eat World. I have a problem with the vocals, though, all high-pitched and falsetto. All in all they're pretty good. www.mewsite.com

Injected is another cool band (american), sort of heavy-metal but really much more alternative. Bullet and Faithless are probably the best songs but try Ms.Fortune and Used Up too.

    ok ok i'll stop
