I suspect the offer is genuine, and the service might even have some gold value, but not 5000g. He wants to sell advice that can be had free on the internet, offering no guarantees because he cannot. If a guild can't implement strategy on their own then a consultant won't do any good. Casual would be better off selling twink runs through MC.

It pains me to see the Hyjal population marching front on into Casual's artillery. A more insidious approach is required for them. Learn 2 troll Casual.

I have no doubt that the offer is genuine, and honestly I don't think it's a bad idea. Whatever else Digo is, he's obviously very articulate and probably really could help a guild out on some of the "roadblock" encounters like Razorgore. I just think the prices are a little steep. For 5000g I'd expect him to take a guild that's never seen AQ40 and stick with them until C'thun was dead. Maybe that IS the offer, but I don't get that impression.

Plus, 1000g for a 45 minute Baron? Are you kidding me? Hell, I'd do it for half that and promise to never leave Stratholme until your group was successful.

His biggest problem is that his reputation precedes him. If he was known for being helpful he'd probably be taken more seriously. It's also not helping that Neji chimes in with a post that essentially says, "Here's a list of guilds that suck and could use our services so that they won't suck anymore." Not a good way to drum up customers.

What makes the thread legendary for me is some of the responses.

Heck, you need advice for BWL/AQ20/Naxx (deathnight wing)/AQ40 (up to Battleguard)/MC or ZG, I've run all those so many times my eyes bleed just thinking about them. Heck, I think Team eXecute/Obsidian Spur still holds the record for the fastest AQ20 run. My price? Pie. Lots of Pie! ;)

Well, I do have a mean recipe for a cookies and cream pie, and I can also whip up a tasty little caramel cheesecake. If we can't get past the Drakonids in Phase 1 Nef by this time next week I may take you up on that. :D

This is where Frosties really shine over Fire. Imp Blizz ftw.

i'd be happy to dish out advice as well, although it'd be from the horde perspective.

We got Bronze and Red for our first taste of the fight. We'll see what happens this week. On our best attempt we managed to kill 34 Drakonids, which I thought was pretty good all things considered. That said we'd have had a LOT of the bastards still alive for Nef's landing even if we had managed to kill 8 more.

Yeah we discussed that after one of our wipes. All of the mages had at least 21 in Frost (yes, even me), but only one with Imp Blizz (no, not me). At least another of us will probably respec for Imp Blizz for the next try.

Is the improved slowing talent also required?

Yes it does help tremendously. That extra 3 sec (heck even 1 sec) helps cause blizzard's slow effect doesn't actually go off until the second wave. Add to that another -10% speed and it feels like heaven. That's why I told the mages (when I was still in it) that Blizzard mages are best for level grinding.

Phase 3 is easy. Imp Blizzard isn't required at all. All you need is an Invuln. Pot and you're good to go.

Edit: Also ask a pally for Blessing of Protection (another 5 sec physical immune).

Well, we cleared through Chromag last night. Didn't make an attempt at Nef other than to start the event just to see what colors we'll be dealing with.

    Red and Bronze. Again. Joy.
