Aww you love it. Runs would be boring if all the fights went according to plan.

Maybe they'll give us an aggro wipe talent similar to Fade. I doubt it and don't personally think it's needed, but I know a lot of mages want it.

Ice block doesn't wipe aggro. As soon as it wears off you're back on the top of the list unless the warrior has regained.

Also, Iceblock is only available to a specific build. All priests can Fade.

if the warrior cant get aggro back during ice block, one of you is doing something wrong.

True. I'm just saying it doesn't reduce hate like Fade does. (Although Fade's effects are temporary, so in the end they are very similar.)

But an aggro wipe is not what mages need anyway, beyond possibly making Arcane Subtlety affect all three trees (which isn't really an aggro "wipe," but it would be useful).

That video is the reason guys like Auto think mages are overpowered.

To be technical Fade is not and aggro "wipe" either.... fade is a Hate Reduction roughly 40%...Paladins use Divine Protection on a target to do the same thing for its duration. Rogues use feint but its only a reducer and has a chance to miss or be resisted...

Only a Hunter can completly "wipe" aggro by using Fiegn Death and get ooc.

A Mage that is specced with Ice Block is an aggro Reducement for its duration, while a Mage is blocked they are repidly falling on the hate list.....Almost every Mage who comes with us to ZG / MC / Onyxia is specced Frost and uses Ice Block constantly to reduce thier aggro and keep themselves lower on the hate list...

edit: in BWL Mages who spec Arcane sub and use Arcane missles still have problems with aggro....Mages are very powerful end game with some purple itemization

I still kick around experimenting with an frost build, but I enjoy the fire build and am reluctant to give it up. (Plus her name is FIREmane, it would be weird to see her casting frost.)

I suppose I could level up a frost mage (I have an undead one), but who wants to go to that trouble?

Are you 31/30 Arcane 20/21 Fire?

because keeping your Arcane tree in place you wil not loose 90% or your utility by moving your 20 or 21 pts from Fire to Frost...its a slightly different playstyle

Currently 31/20 Arcane/Fire, with pretty much cookie-cutter choices.

Formerly I was 21/30 Arcane/Fire, but went to 31 Arcane for Arcane Power.

No real change in playstyle between these builds, my current build allows me to dish out Arcane Powered Pyroblasts every three minutes. (No I don't have either of the two rare trinkets that make pussy warriors think mages as a class are overpowered.)
