mage - arcane missiles and interruption

    How can an Arcane Missile be interrupted if it is instant cast to begin with?

    Because it's an instant cast over five seconds. You cast it and immediately shoot one double bolt, then four more double bolts over four more seconds. Each double bolt (1 second) causes 192 damage.

    0 seconds: cast and 1 double bolt
    1 second: second double bolt
    2 seconds: third double bolt
    3 seconds: fourth double bolt
    4 seconds: fifth double bolt - end of spell

    The only bolt that can't be interrupted is the first, any thereafter is fair game.

    So each bolt is a DOT? Do they stack?

    edit: nm, I read it as a DOT, but the "over 5 seconds" is referring to what cow said. It's not a DOT.

    It's not a DOT, it's DD channeling spell. You keep shooting while you're channelling (similar to drain live, evocation, etc). With talents it's un-interruptible which is fairly cool.

    Can you maintain the channeling while moving? I know some spells let you move while casting.

    I do not know for sure, but I seriously doubt that you can channel arcane missiles while moving.
