Not really... but this is what I think is gonna be announced:

    -DDR G4 towers.
    -Mac GeForce 2.
    -Mac OS X update.
    -G4 powerbooks.
-New, faster iMacs using that new G3 processor in the iBooks that has backside cache or something.
-I also think Steve is gonna lay down a future roadmap for the Mac platform. Especially given their recent losses, Steve is gonna have to plant a seed of faith in the future of Apple.

    What do you guys think?

A Mac Geforce 2? Sweet. That will be pretty awesome! How good is that thing anyway? btw, if those new iMac's come out then, do think the $799 iMac's price will go down? Just wondering. Not so sure if G4 Power Books will come out, but anyway. [IMG]

I remember that in Steve's statement issued with the earnings loses a couple months ago, he said they were striving for higher MHz speeds and they were going to make their hardware cheaper to the point where consumers wouldn't be able to ignore the value (in so many words). I think he was mainly talking about the Cube, but I remember him implying that their whole product line would be revamped. In summary, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they dropped the price of the entry level iMac. However, while all the rumor sites are talking about new G4 towers, new cubes, and new powerbooks, there has been no talk of new iMacs at the expo. Maybe a couple months later at the France (I think it's France) expo in Feb. or something.

I hope the iMac prices drop. If they would drop, I would consider trying to get one, even if it's not awesome compared to a G4 or something. Better then my old other G3. btw, do you guys think they'll ever be a G4 iMac?

I think so too. Man, it will be worth getting PowerBooks soon instead of a iMac or something. PowerBooks with G4 proccesers...better then an G3 iMac. Their more expanable too, aren't they? (PowerBooks)

PowerBooks have more expansion option through the PCMCIA slot. Other than that, the upgradability on the iMacs and PBs is pretty equal (as in RAM upgrades and that's it).

Yeah, the PowerBooks that are out now though, already look pretty impressive like the PB G3 400 mkz, 128 MB RAM, 8 MB VRAM, etc. G4 PW's would really kick ass! btw, how come they made iMac's so they couldn't upgrade the VRAM? Is it just 'cause the iMac's are small, or is it becuase they were made so complicated that you just can't take 'em apart easily?

I've also heard the new Power Macs will come with 6 PCI slots. Plus Apple uses 64bit PCI slots. PCs only use 32bit. We have twice the bandwidth, hahahahaha! [IMG]

Apple just figured that the iMac was a consumer machine, not professional. So they design the towers with lots of expandability and the iMacs without. I guess they thought the demand for upgrading iMacs wasn't there or something. I don't know.
