How do you know? Do you work for AMD?

I'm starting to get curious where you get your information. I haven't really looked into your claims that the Athlon "theoretically" performs better with better FSB because it is impossible as of the moment. No motherboard can overclock to even 166mhz FSB. 333mhz FSB is unheard of. From what I can tell, everything you have given is either speculation or theoretical.

And AMD is moving past the K7 architecture (which is over 2 years old).

Edited: A copy of AMD's roadmap

Notice that AMD is slowly moving the higher markets into the Hammers after Barton.

    1) AMD stated the Athlon supported FSB speeds up to 400MHz when they first launched the chip.
    2) The Hammer won't be out until late 2002/early 2003.
    3) Intel's Northwood P4 will be faster than the Athlon XP.
    4) AMD has never let Intel have the speed crown for more than a mounth.
    5) A 333MHz FSB Athlon is the next logical step since DDR 333 memory is now available.
    6) Compare benchies from a 200/200 Athlon to a 266/266 chip.
    7) Switching to a 333MHz FSB will offer greater gains.
    8) Hardware prefech mean anything?
    9) It requires a fast bus.
    10) I don't work for AMD, but I do read alot.

Press release? Don't see anything about it. Try giving a link.

How do you even know if the Northwood P4 even has a prototype out? Unless you work for Intel, all you would know is theoretical, abstract designs. Statements like that require proof.

    K5, K6, K6II

And since when did we start equating FSB with overall speed? The Athlon, running on a 266mhz FSB bus, owns the 400mhz FSB of a P4. Guess who is faster?

Again, logic does not necessarily equate to truth. More speculation

10% average, 15% max. Most of that is due to DDR. If you used raw mathematics (66/200), we should see a 33% increase, and that's without considering bottlenecking. As you can see, the numbers don't match up.

Unless you can back up your statements, I have no idea how you plan to convince me (and anyone else).

Nope, and asking that question doesn't help either unless you plan to explain with reliable sources.

I've provided 10 pages of proof against your statement, yet you still press upon it. Frankly, we need more than your word to believe that.

    From what, The National Enquirer?

Have you ever participated in a debate? Do you understand the idea of proof? If yes, POST SOME!

As long as Keeksy feels like getting owned let them go at it, it's not hurting anyone and it makes for interesting reading.

grizzy is not owning anyone

(see above comment about being the chip engineer) :p

in the end it doesn't matter what is faster or better. just build your system and use it. who cares if you get 10fps less than some one else.

Wow, it seems as if Zephor always creates the thread with the most views, even though he's only posted twice.

Would Intel still bind you to their privacy contract even if you quit? Perhaps you would be willing to let go of some secrets...
