I think D3 will just run better in os x without any optimization at all.
Doom 3 will only have an OS X version. All of ID's future games will be OS X only (on the Mac side), no more classic support.
heh, UT fans dont bother buying NVIDIA. i just tried to play UT on a GF2 MX, no frickin drivers.. why cant UT use openGL like everything else? seems pretty silly to have to play in software mode with a monster of a video card...
UT can run in opengl. You have to define the renderer in some .ini file or something. But it runs worse in OpenGL than in Rave.
Bottom Line: UT is a Glide game. Don't bother trying to run it in anything else.
Actually, it runs good in Direct X on a PC, but that doens't apply to us.
believe me gekko that's not the half of what he'll pay if he lives on campus...I pay $5000 a semester all told, plus books, living expenses, and all that I wind up spending $8000 or more a semester, so roughly $16000 a year, fun fun stuff.
Don't count ATI out. From what I've heard, the R-200 (aka Radeon2) is going to be one monster chip. The Geforce3 may even yield before it. ATI won't ship it until late summer/early fall, so the Geforce3 is still KING.
