Have you seen the movie "Tropic Thunder"? Remember the "Scorcher" trailers at the beginning of the movie? That.

I haven't seen "Tropic Thunder", not yet at least. Perhaps you could fill me in on why it is relevant to why your appear to dislike FPS games.

The Scorcher trailers were a parody on action films. There were like 6 sequels, all identical. That is FPS games.

Just when you thought it couldn't happen again, Jack Power is called to save the world for a 5th time...in Scorcher 5: Hell Freezes Over.

I tend to agree with the retread FPS concept. Only time I purchase that genre is if there is a story or game play innovation that peeks my interest. I bought Dead Space since I tend to love Sci-Fi Horror type movies and was pleasantly surprised. Not exactly a FPS, but close enough. Great story as well. Left4Dead, from everything I have read and heard, completely lacks any substantial story elements. If I want to make my own stories I'll stick with MMOs thank you.

I understand the attraction and I truly respect Valve and love their Steam network. Portal was an insanely great, albeit short, game and HL2 was fantastic. Didn't grab Team Fortress or Left4Dead though since they are total FPS. Different strokes.

You should probably have a second look at Team Fortress 2, it's a great FPS with a different class for everyone's play style. I purchased it and haven't regretted it. Also, it's one of the few games out there where a healer class is actually fun to play.

Left 4 Dead is TONS more fun than any fps game I've played in a long time. The single player is great but online it's freaking incredible. I'm a big zombie fan anyways but this is way more than I could have hoped for. Don't shoot this one down (no pun intended) until you have tried it.

There are a lot of improvements I can see the need for (hopefully the DLC will include some of them), but it's a fun game to pick up and play, like a heavily teamwork-focused Gauntlet.

Zombie movies are not usually story oriented.
