I don't like how LCD color distorts when you move your head arround, pisses me off. I prefer just your standard CRT (preferably flat screen) for optimum viewing pleasure :D.

Btw Jake, does this avatar come from the same place as that floating pink thing with the balloon?

what do you mean it changes color? the old lcd maybe, but all the new ones are pretty nice. though, they aren't good for games.

Hmm, maybe I'll take a look at some LCD's tomorrow when I go out to get some 4.1 speakers. Any brand recommendations for the speakers and/or monitor?

My turn to change avatars :D.

I'd say the resolution is too low: 1024x768!

    hehe, nice ava.

spar, this screen can be wall mounted with an optional stand it says.

1024x768 is fine. it wouldn't be my main monitor by any means.

The new ones are fine for games.

There used to be the "ghosting" issue where the image from a previous frame would stay for the new frame. Newer LCD monitors have their pixel erase rate so fast that ghosting no longer occurs.

Also, some people say that the refresh rates are too low. Unfortunately, they don't realize that LCDs do not refresh. In a CRT, you have rays shooting onto the screen, which can refresh. In an LCD, liquid crystals don't refresh. They stay put because they are liquid, not light.

And the 1024x768 max resolution would be for 15" monitors. Few CRTs even go that high for 15" monitors.

Well, since I've taken my comp apart at least 200,000 times, I was thinking I would buy the screen, and take out the crt from my iMac. Then I would have room for this:

22" is even better. Hey, why not just get a cinema display. They're only $2999 now, with a student discount it would be $2949 (wow, what a savings! )

19 inchers aren't that expensive though, and the extra screen real estate is nice. You can get a perfectly good monitor for ~$300.00 or less.
