CalTech, keep it out where the sun shines .
And one post on a forum is going to change my life plans....?
it's just my first pick. If they don't accept me i'll take any college that'll pay for me to go there. I'll really have to bust my butt to get into MIT.
cmpsc 261: 96%
math 122: 100%
I've found in my search for engineering schools, that they seem to care most about Math SAT scores and out of school/extra-curricular activities that relate in some way to engineering (but maybe that's just the schools I've talked with). I haven't had any problem getting accepted anywhere (although I didn't try for MIT or any of the extremely prestigous schools) but I'm settling for a state school. My GPA isn't high enough to warrant me any merit scholarships, and my parent's income is in a weird bracket where we qualify for next to nothing, but it ends up impacting them alot. And I'll probably end up assuming control of the payment halfway through my second year or so.
Concerning MIT, good luck. You still have a couple years before you start applying, right? Make sure your Math and Science class grades are flawless (I've heard of students, not asian, who've gotten accepted there with below average English and History grades based on their devotion to Math & Science) get your Math SAT above 750, and ideally you should start building a portfolio of the programming you've done.
But I'm no expert I'm just upset with my counselor who told me last year that I had a low shot at getting accepted to even State schools, and should mainly look at Community Colleges.
Community college for undergrad and transfer, I say. You need a 3.0 and no standardized test scores to get into UCLA junior year.
Got my mark back for my bio midterm, 39/48. Average was 24/48. Beat the mean by 30%.
My midterms are not until next week, should be fun in a really bad way.
I thought there was a problem when I saw 92 posts. All this stupid bot.
Got my english termpaper back. 84%
WooHoo! 92% on part 1 of a 3 part English midterm, still have yet ot do the other 2 parts.
I'm happy. My first semester grades came a while back... My senior year and the only semester I get straight A's in all of high school
Oh and unless you get those C's and B's up to A's in AP clases, MIT will not take you. They think of APs as a "normal class" and normal classes as "nothing". I didn't even apply there.
I'm not gonna go there anymore, not necessary for compsci. If i would wanna do science,i'd make myself have no life and get straight A's in everything.
