I think we should have, #myriadofalliedclansmen because we'll be playing Warcraft 3 too when it comes out.

Um, why don't you just log into a Bnet game and join the mac clan bnet channel.
But then again, some of you might not have a bnet game so I guess creating an IRC channel might be a good idea-Although I doubt there would be lots of people in it most of the time.

And what server might this channel be found on?
Heehee...I type faster than this PPC 5200/75 can render in Netscape. No, it's not my main computer. [IMG]

I'm not that familiar with IRC unfortunately. I will be making a battle.net channel that will always be open. But I haven't considered anything beyond that. Is IRC good?

IRC is good because it isn't a game and can be accessed with IRCle (and others) which means people like me who want to chat from work don't get slammed for "playing" during work hours [IMG]

Basically IRC is a chatting program where you open up an application(client) that looks sort of like the Bnet chat layout. You then connect to a server which contains channels. When you connect to a server sometimes it gives you a list of channels, or you have to join one by typing /join #InsertChannelName. You then join this channel and you can talk away with others in that channel.
IRC is very useful for chatting during work, as the person above me said, you can also run it in the background, unlike bnet which would turn your monitor colors all funky if you tried.

Also, you might want to continue this thread in the "Interesting Ideas" thread that I posted, it has this concern in it.
We need to decide on a server and a channel name ASAP so I can start chatting.

    Here is a good server:
    phoenix.az.us.undernet.org

I don't think it requires any registration.

'cmon, jakeman! that's not all it's good for! you could throw redhat on there and use it as file server or firewall or something . . . or you could host an irc channel . . . . [IMG]
