Apple's been lying to us all along...
More like they have been omitting certain truths, but a lie of omission is still a lie. Apple's hypocrisy in matters of architecture is evidence of this, but few people are calling them on it.
Wow you guys need to get over this. Apple is not a religion, it's a business. Companies change directions all the time, from Coca-Cola to Toys-R-Us to Johnson & Johnson. Stagnation means death. Apple was on a slow spiral to extinction. The iPod and Intel Macs are their way of staying viable. There's nothing wrong with that.
Really, it's okay.
That, and they're comparing a single core G5 to a dual core Intel with more and faster RAM and a better graphics processor. I don't really think it's fair to say that Apple has been lying about chip architecture for years because their new Intel iMac is beating out their old G5 iMac.
