it looks like the image has a lot of white space around it which increases the dimensions beyond what the forums allow. I'll crop it and make it your avatar tonight when I get home.

    HOLY CRAP!

Learn to crop. Here's an edited version to save Jake the trouble.

All I did was open fireworks, exit image editing mode, click on image so it's boxed, go command+c, go command+n (Fireworks resizes the new canvas' proportions to fit those of the pic in the clipboard, it autos to transparent, paste, export.

Took me 15 seconds. Not too difficult. :D

It's currently 41x99. So I guess that's not within the size constraints.

Here's one at 41x75. I shrunk its height and it doesn't look too bad.

...and this sucker is at 33x75, I shrunk this one proportionally where the width and height were decreased by the same value, x/1.32

The one above just had the height cut to 75.

Although the picture is cool, tall avatars aren't as great as wide avatars. A tall one will fill your post with blank space if you only post 1 or 2 lines, a wide one won't do that since it's height is only a couple lines as opposed to a tall one's 7 or 8.

ok, what do ya think? The tall one looked too thin after shrinking it to 75 height. I think it looks better short and thick. If you want I can try giving it one of my custom hand jobs to get rid of the white. All that extra white stuff around it kinda looks messy. ;) (some one has to fill in for Keeksy)

We all have our preferences. Sometimes we should just keep them to ourselves. :)

What the fudge? Did it not retain its transparency?

I think it would look better without the white back ground, but it still looks good the way it is now.

cow, the transparency you gave it made the white in the middle of the face area transparent too. I already tried making the outside a different color and make that color transparent but then you get the white speckles around the edges.
