Heatsink Hell...

    jebus... I've had allmost all the parts to my PC for like nine days now, and still I am waiting on this stupid company to get its ass in gear... http://www.thermaltake.com/products/orbs/dragon478s.htm looks good no?... Even is able to take the proc to 3.0Ghz when used with their Northwood heatsink... well I have both... but that little locky-downy-brackety-thingy... well thats another story... I have ordered that heatsink twice from them and still no locky thing... grrrrrrrrrrr

    Orbs look cool, but that is all. They do not peform very good. They will also not take your cpu to 3ghz. Heat output is not a direct result of clock speed.

    g4 1ghz cpu = about 8 watts of heat. Thunderbird 1ghz cpu = 54 watts of heat

    ahh... hell... should I be able to get 2.9Ghz outta it though?... tomshardware said that they got 2.9 off of stock cooling for the Mobo from a 2.4... sou with that and the Arctic Silver should I be able to?

    nahh, about 60-70watts depending on speed.

    There is no guarantee of anything. You might get a 2.4 that maxes out at 2.4. To get up to 3ghz you'd probably need to up the voltage. Unless you got a really good chip.
