I'm downloading the patch now from Blizzard. B.net kept booting me, i got to 99% done and was disconnected [IMG]
Game runs laggy as hell though, even in Single player. I turned my virtual memory up to 200, have 108 physcial memory and disabled almost every extension, and it still sucks [IMG]
only thing i've accomplished is to bring my characters across.
Hopefully I'll get this working resonabley well soon. Sucks, my PC version wasn't nearly this difficult to get running. Usually it's the other way around.

You might want to turn off some of the graphics options (from within a game, like light blending, perspective, and other such goodies) as well as turning the in-game music volume all the way down (it gets a little old after a few repetitions anyway). Leaving the game sounds on is mandatory in my opinion, for reasons of gameplay.

Also if you type "fps" (no "s) in the text field as you would if you were chatting in multiplayer, you can see just how bad or good you're doing. With those modifications, I've managed to hold at around 24 frames per second. Not sure what the "skip" and "ping" represent exactly. Every once in a blue moon I still slow down to single digits fps, which is not playable, but it doesn't last for more than a couple seconds. I leave the fps monitor on, so I can run away from trouble immediately if the frame rate drops.

Actually, blizz says in their game manual not to turn music off completely, because it causes the game to have to read from the cd more often. Not sure why.
Got everything turned off except music, runs slow still, but not as bad. Hopefully the new patch will help.
