ok here is what I was thinking of doing...Using my apple contacts to get a G4 450 cube for $950. Then I want to get a Geforce 3 BTO for another 350 racking up to a total of 1300 (i'll have to make do with a crappy monitor for a while)
I just want to know if the geforce 3 will work or not? or if hte whole damn thing is a stupid idea?

And here is the reason... The cube has a very small area surrounding the AGP 2X slot, and the cards have to be made special for that slot... Now, unless you know the people who manufacture the cards, and they make you a special one... you might as well, forget it... but a Cube for 950$ is still a good deal

Um, the Geforce 3 is an available BTO option at the apple store so it must work.

you'd need the cube bracket, but if its a 6" card it would fit...

$950 for a G4 Cube?!?!??! What are the prices normally?

Any chance you can hook me up? Or tell me where I can get one that cheap? Student discount by any chance?

I'm starting to get angry at my PC after all these years now when I think about the good ol' Mac days...

    Edited...stupid spelling errors

Cubes normally start at $1299 and go up to like $2100 or something.

um, I have connections...lets leave it at that. And no, the connections wouldn't be worth it to you (considering the fee I would charge for such a service) :P.
I guess I won't be getting a cube then, I want to upgrade my next comp all to hell.r

With the stock market in chaos now, I have no idea how I can come up with an extra $1299. Sigh...maybe when Steve Jobs decides to pay attention to us really poor people who don't want integrated monitors in unupgradeable computers. Yeah, that's right, the 0.1% minority of computer users.
