Hehe, here is the big anouncements by Mr. Gates:

    http://apnews.excite.com/image/2002...0108001431.html?date=20020108&docid=D7GTFKQ00

The caption: "Microsoft Corp. chairman Bill Gates holds the Mira wireless smart monitor at the Microsoft booth on the floor of the Consumer Electronics Show, Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, in Las Vegas. Mira will allow the consumer to have access to their PC from any room in the house. "

hmmm, not sure if I like this one. I bet it will cost more than it is worth!

I would have to agree with you.
It looks like he's gone through a transformation much like Al Gore. Tubby Gates?? Hey, I guess he can afford liposuction...

Gates' strange appearance is merely a reflection of the evil which has slowly creep its way into his soul. Wealth and success seduces men into committing evil acts. Money distorts our view of what is just and good. The more we have, the more distorted our view of the world becomes. Eventually all we see is money, and our need for it rises exponentially. We become uncaring of others and violent towards all who stand in our way. It is sad that few realize how easily man's soul is poisoned by greed. I wish I could say my soul was pure, but as long as I live in a poisoned society such as this the poison will kill me too. Man as he is now, is no more enlightened than the ape from which he came. :(

actually the apple section seems almost non-existant now. when i was in sales i kept the apple section in great shape with a crap load of software on the shelves, priced... etc. now it's all unorganized, only a fourth of the software is displayed (the rest is mixed in with the PC software). we have two g4 towers on display and a few discontinued portables on display... that's it. it's lame.

i'm in the tech shop now by the way.... so i don't do anything in sales anymore.

As long as you can get yourself a nice discount who cares what department you work in! :)

so true. my discount is nice. for example, on the new high-end iMacs (which we don't have yet) my cost is like $1630 or something (retail is $1799). it's not a lot but it certainly helps. i love buying ethernet cables at my cost. a $20 ethernet cable will usually cost me like $2. :D
