Most of my school USED to be punks, goths, and *COUGH*COUGH* drugheads. But they were cool people I enjoyed being around. My thing is that with spiky hair, all black wardrobe, ETC I will be the LAST guy that so and so hires to fix their computer system, honestly

I have no problem with the punks, goths, etc.
My problem is with the jocks and the athletic types. I'm reading, for the first time mind you, The Catcher in the Rye for the first time in my Banned Books class, and I particularly like this quote:

"...but all the athletic bastards stuck together. In every school I've gone to, all the athletic bastards stick together"

And that is pretty much my feeling as well. The Teeny-Poppers, the Jocks, and any big muscled up freak that pushes everyone else aside. Ooh, do I feel a Columbine discussion coming!

Punk people aren't what people look like in Punk and Ska bands though, I'd say the culture and the music don't quite fit together perfectly.

yeah, punks exagerate the dress bands like the clash and sex pistols wore. even punk bands today don't do it as much i think.

Punk bands today hardly do it at all in comparison, it's usually just like a t-shirt and cargo shorts or pants, maybe hair dye if it looks good, and not extravagantly spiked hair the way you see from street punks, but the normal kind of spiked where you just slop some gel in and brush it back with your hands.

You are confusing punk and blink 182 my friend. Rancid, The unseen, anti-flag, death by stereo, mad caddies, the damned are punk. Hot topic is a bad ****in excuse to wear metal studs, and the pathetically eager freaks who want to be different to fit the status quo piss me off. And that's about all I have to say about that. besides, punk isnt about what you wear, what the **** your hair looks like, or how much of an asshole you can be, it's about letting go and enjoying yourself, not the society you live in. It is about friends and staying true to yourself, were a ****ing family out there.

Yeah, about as punk as Joy Division is jazz.

I know what you kids consider punk and "pouser". That line won't work on me.

You guys are forgetting the true spirit of punk and its gothic/deathmetal offshoots. Underground commercialism.
