My iBook has a firewire port. My Windows desktop has a firewire port. I know that on most Macs if you hold down T that it acts like a big firewire hard drive

If I connect the two via firewire and start up my iBook in this mode (first can that be done on an iBook?) will the Windows XP box be able to read the contents of the iBook's hard drive?

I know it can be done over Ethernet too but that requires a long trek down to the router in the basement :p

if you get something like PC-MacLAN or whatever that is... maybe Thursby's DAVE, should allow you to see mac hard drives on winders machines. try a demo if available.
