The game sucked too much ass for me to buy it. Looks like I made a wise decision.

The problem with WC 3 is that there is a HUGE learning curve. If you are behind the curve you will get wasted whenever you play on b.net. I would disagree with the no replayability statement. It may not be a D2 in terms of continued playing but you can't say that the amount of diversity in terms of play styles and tactics isn't there. Everygame you play on B.net is different. The real problem is that it is HARD. Very hard. It requires you to gamble alot on your tactics and change at a moments notice when needed. It differs greatly from starcraft in that there isn't as much equivalence in the races. They are all extremely different and familiarity with each of them is required. That being said I don't forsee myself playing long term. Starcraft was fun for awhile with friends and a hub but it got old. I like a game where you have something to improve in terms of equipment and level over a longer span of time, ie RPG stuff.

I have a weird phobia of losing in RTS games. Because of this, I find myself only able to handle UMS style games when I play by myself. On the other hand, if I am playing with a friend then I can manage it.

I'm guessing that it's just because you spend so much time building up and then you can lose it all in an instant. In a FPS this isn't an issue since you die often and respawn soon enough. It's been about 2 years now and I'm only starting to near mastery over this silly inner fear. The mind is a strange thing.

This is mainly why I watch so many replays In the meantime.

well...the way how i see it, records don't matter...most important thing is that you learn from your opponents(Who just kicked ur sorry lil' ars) and integrate their strat into ur strategy data base.

It's not the record. Just the loss. Weird thing but it's there. I personally don't care too much about records but what can someone do about a phobia but slowly get over it.

Too many records are faked anyways. The portraits are nice though!

the reason loosing in rts's is so painful is that when you die, it's almost always your fault.
well, in 1v1 anyway. Unless the other guy is cheating, it is simply you vs. them. You are better, or they are.

Loosing to that can be tough.
That's why it's so easy to play 3v3 or 4v4. You can blame it on your ****ty allies.

I don't blame anyone. Stuff just happens. You make a mistake or someone else does. No big deal so long as you had fun. Playing 3v3, etc... is easier though. If you goof up you have your allies to fall back on. Sort of a second chance.

omg lol. it's like in the UMS Gladiator maps. in every single game, everyone always leaves from whichever team is losing in the first minute of the game. they can't stand losing. people play warcraft 3 to win, not to have fun playing.

it's a type of game. there are several maps and variations of it. basically you build defense towers that fire at monsters as they walk by.
