    How can I copy absolutely everything, including hidden files and all directories, from a mounted disk image to a specified folder, like ~/Desktop/Temp/ ?

    mkdir ~/Desktop/Temp/Name\ Of\ Image
    ditto /Volumes/Name\ Of\ Image ~/Desktop/Temp/Name\ Of\ Image

    cp -R /path/to/disk/ ~/Desktop/Temp/

    Tried that and some other command-line switches, it didn't like it.

    actually, that won't copy everything. ditto owns cp.

    Never heard of ditto. cp -r works fine for everything I do.
