So in my quest to find an inexpensive, but good sounding set of computer speakers I came to wonder what you all use. Sound off and give me some suggestions.

I use a cheap pair of Yamahas ($100 3 years ago).

Here is a good audiophile site. You will find user-submitted reviews in the "GearViews" section.

I used a pair of Altec-Lansinc ACS45b's until a couple of months ago. Then my brother's friend gave us a hand-me-down stereo reciever worth a couple hundred bucks so I decided to kinda splurge and buy a pair of Pioneer home-stereo speakers for $100 at Circuit City (told manager I was on a budget and he dave me a discount on a set of speakers off the display rack). Teh win :)

My speakers were 150 bucks Canadian at Future Shop about 3 years ago. They're Monsoon something-or-others. They were good speakers, but the cables are flimsy, and over the last couple of months, they've started having problems. My friend has almost identical speakers, but they've got much thicker cables. If I buy these again, I would try to find the ones with thicker cables instead.

My next computer audio purchase is hopefully going to be soundsticks and iSub though.

Apple Pro Speakers. will be my home stereo system when my AirPort Express arrives. Altec Lansing is pretty freakin' good for the price, go for the FX6021, or the Klipsch ProMedia GMX.

Hmm, well I was going to say the Grado SR80 headphones, which are $99. Altec makes decent 2.1 sets for around $60 if you'd rather have speakers.

why not SR60's? they're cheaper and they do almost the same thing.

My headphones are a pair of Shure E2c's. Not exactly long-term hardcore home-theater gaming materiel but they're awesome on the iPod.

I haven't tried the SR60's, but I hear that the difference in sound quality is very noticable, and well worth the extra $30.

I use 3 year old Sound Sticks, the only limitation I found with them is the USB connection, but they sound very good for computer speakers

I use a headset.. My Altec Lansing headset broke 2 days ago :-\ .. Gonna see if bestbuy will take it back. I don't know how it broke. No broken wires, didn't drop it, etc.
